Old cutlery
Fortunately, there are a number of products on the market that can help us make our cutlery shine again, but the advice is to give up on overly aggressive solutions and focus instead on some natural remedies that are highly effective. As we know, tin foil has become the salvation for many housewives, but few know all its uses.
In fact, many do not know that a sheet of tin foil is enough to give cutlery the shine that seems to have been lost. All that needs to be done is to get hold of such a sheet and plunge it into a pan where we have heated water.
After pouring a litre of water into the pan, we also immerse a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda and half a tablespoon of sugar, stirring well to ensure that the ingredients mix well together.
After bringing the water to the boil, take a sheet of aluminium foil, cut it in half with scissors and then proceed to divide the two halves so that we have four equal parts.
Each ‘square’ obtained will have to be rolled until there are four balls. As soon as the water is boiling, we can place the aluminium balls inside the pan.
It may sound unbelievable, but this solution is really ideal for old cutlery. We take all the older spoons, forks and knives, which have now lost their original shine, and plunge them into the pan for ten minutes.
With this method your cutlery will shine again
After this time, take all the cutlery out of the pan and wash it with soap and water to complete the cleaning and ‘rejuvenation’ process. Dry the cutlery and you will immediately notice that it is practically as good as new again.

The shine and lustre that characterised this cutlery when we bought it will return thanks to this simple method.
This is undoubtedly an exceptional solution that also saves a lot of money. Many people are tempted to throw away very old cutlery that has become dull and buy new.
An expense that can easily be avoided by exploiting the potential of tin foil, as well as the purifying action of baking soda.
